Broad channels fill in

This photo depicts a stretch of river that can be seen filling up on our home page.  The river first fills in small winding channels, then where low spots on the river exist they fill bank to bank. I am sure this will all change as the sands move downstream and the new hydrograph begins shaping the river's channel.
