PUBLIC MEETING MON. JUNE 24th: Show me the Water!
This is a public meeting designed to improve our knowledge of the region’s water supply and the availability of water for new growth areas. Water is the cornerstone of life in the Valley, but few people understand the ins-and-outs of developing new water supplies. Initiating discussion about our water may reduce conflicts among water users, help forge a responsible path to securing new supplies, and answer questions such as:
Where will new water supplies come from for new growth?
Will there be conflicts between the existing users and new urban demands for water?
What is the public’s role in protecting or expanding our water supplies?
Water managers from the US Bureau of Reclamation (Michael Jackson, Area Manager for the South-Central Area Office) and the Friant Water Authority (Steve Otemoller, Water Resources Manager) will give presentations and then be available for a discussion about emerging water supply issues.
Who: The event is sponsored by Revive the San Joaquin, the Sierra Club, League of
Women Voters, and the Madera Oversight Coalition.
When: 1:00pm - 2:30pm Monday June 24th, 2013
Where: The Fresno Area Hispanic Chamber. 1444 Fulton St. Fresno, CA 93721
