The Upper San Joaquin River Health Assessment
Revive the San Joaquin is conducting a river health assessment on the Upper San Joaquin River. The River Health Assessment report will develop a model for assessing the health of the San Joaquin River and its riparian ecosystems. River health assessment areas include water quality, climate change, biotic condition, and human impacts. Revive will also identify key river health indicators and address methods for filling in information gaps and data management tools. The central purpose of assessing river health will be to identify and make recommendations for river restoration or conservation needs and highlight important threats to river health.
This project is made possible by a grant funded by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. Revive the San Joaquin is also partnered with the Upper San Joaquin River Watershed Program and Stewardship Council. The watershed program is conducting a comprehensive watershed study that will give baseline conditions and a condition summary on all aspects of the Upper San Joaquin River Watershed and its 1,667 sq mile drainage.
